personal statement
As an artist, I aim to bring life to a seemingly blank canvas, creating not just forms but colorful, rich stories. The ideating, sketching, coloring, rendering, and every step of the process is filled with purpose: to create stories that bring life and color to that boundless blank canvas.

Art, to me, is a language that transcends mere visuals. It’s a medium that can make complex subjects more accessible. My work is a bridge, spanning the gap between confusion and comprehension. I strive to create narratives that provoke thought, using characters and worlds as my tools.

Every character I bring to life has a unique story to tell. Whether it’s a modern-day couple navigating their relationship or a cyborg grappling with isolation in a dystopian future. No matter what, I am dedicated to making each character feel authentic.
Great characters have the power to portray stories that may otherwise be difficult to envision effectively. They become the bridge that allows us to understand a different perspective.

My journey as a character artist started when I was a kid who’d play around pretending to be a Pokemon trainer or a fairy who could control fire. I’ve always had a desire to create a story that I could immerse myself in. Today, while not so different from my childhood self, I take these scenarios in my head and import them into my characters.

When it comes to the visual aspect of a character, I’m always playing with different coloring styles while developing my style. I feel that art is constantly improving, and there is never a moment where I’ve reached an end.

Now, I feel that it is my role to create characters to help tell stories that some may not understand and help them see another perspective. It is my goal to fill these characters with life and, in return, bring color into the worlds they inhabit.

innovation statement
As an innovator, I am driven by the transformative power of art. My vision is supported by the understanding that art holds the ability to deconstruct the more difficult narratives of our world. Throughout my creative journey, I strive to bring light to these narratives and make them easier to understand.

What I value is art's storytelling potential. I believe each step of the drawing process has a meaning that contributes to the story being told. Whether it be the unspoken struggles of marginalized communities, the untold histories of forgotten heroes, or the complex emotions that swirl throughout our brains, I believe that art can engagingly convey these stories.

By utilizing the tools accessible to me, I seek to push the boundaries of artistic expression. Through experimentation with digital art and animation, I aim to create immersive stories and characters that invite audiences to engage with the characters and illustrations presented.

I believe characters have the power to promote one’s thinking and view on situations by playing as that character. For example, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII is a character I personally resonated with. Her character felt that she always had to take responsibility for what happened to her sister and the world around her, and she felt that she had to amend everything independently. However, she met people throughout her journey who stuck with her and aided her towards her goal. Creating a character with a compelling story like this, I believe, can impact someone on another level that may seem impossible.
Another significant tool that can leverage my art is social media. I can reach a greater audience across many different parts of the world and age groups using social media. I aim to create content through illustrations, videos, and streams to produce these stories, and anyone can join in and experience the process.

To summarize, my innovation is driven by two things: to push the boundaries of artistic expression and to create narratives that may bridge the gaps between audiences to understand one another better. Art has boundless possibilities, and I aim to test those boundaries and try new methods to further my storytelling. In a world filled with division, I believe that art has the power to help bridge those divisions no matter how marginal because, at the end of the day, no matter what background we come from, we are all human.
